These homemade dog treats are great for offering your pup a perfectly dosed CBD snack. We have an Aussie/Border Collie mix and while she is a total sweetheart, sometimes her anxiety gets the best of her. She’s 45 lbs. so we give her 10MG of CBD each day. While she will usually lick directly from her tincture, I also like to cook up a batch of these treats and dose them with 5MG each. They are much healthier than most store-bought treats (no gluten, grain, food dyes, or preservatives) and they’re handy for travel.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup almond flour
1/4 cup unsalted peanut butter (and make sure it doesn’t contain xylitol!)
1/2 ripe banana
Optional: 75MG Dazey CBD oil (5MG per treat)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mash together. Using your hands, make 1 inch balls of the mix and place on sheet. You should be able to make ~15. Flatten slightly with your fingers and bake for 15 minutes until golden around the edges. Remove from oven and drop your CBD dose (5MG in our case) directly onto each treat. It will absorb completely. Let cool and then treat your dog to a very chill snack.
Note: Almond flour is safe for dogs but large doses may not agree with smaller dogs. Check with your vet to confirm if these ingredients are safe for your dog. Coconut, brown rice, or whole wheat flour can be used as substitutes. And if you’re not sure how much CBD to give your dog, you can find our dosing guide here: CBD for Pets.
