Katie of Girl Next Door made our jaws drop when she shared this brownie recipe on her Instagram. These plant-based brownies are also gluten free and vegan using dates as the base along with coconut oil and spirulina—superfoods!
Ingredients:

- 2 cups pitted dates
4 tbsp cacao powder
1 cup peanuts
1 tbsp coconut yogurt
2 flax eggs (chia eggs work as well!)
4 tbsp maple syrup
Pinch of sea salt
1 dropper of cbd oil
1/2 cup dairy-free butter
12 tbsp almond flour
- 1 jar of @simplemills vanilla coconut oil frosting from @wholefoods
2 tsp spirulina
1 tsp mint extract
10 drops of blue food coloring
- 1/2 cup coconut oil (melted)
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp mint extract
4 tbsp maple syrup
Instructions:
Blend pitted dates until a paste forms, then blend in peanuts, and then add all other ingredients one by one.
Press mixture into 9×9 (or something close) pan, and leave in the fridge for 20 mins.
Then, mix vanilla coconut oil frosting, spirulina, mint extract, and blue food coloring to form the frosting. Spread frosting over the base.
Pour the chocolate over the frosting and leave it in the fridge for 5+ hours to harden before enjoying.
